Cet effet, qui se produit en l\u2019absence de tout effet de transfert \u00e0 deux-corps, est qualifi\u00e9 de \u00ab&nbsp;borrom\u00e9en&nbsp;\u00bb, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la topologie des anneaux borrom\u00e9ens, dont le lien pour chaque paire d\u2019anneaux est r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par le troisi\u00e8me anneau.<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #636f88;\"><strong><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"color: #636f88; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les atomes tr\u00e8s excit\u00e9s dits atomes de Rydberg, sont caract\u00e9ris\u00e9s par un nombre quantique principal <em>n <\/em>\u00e9lev\u00e9, et poss\u00e8dent des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s d\u2019interaction dip\u00f4le-dip\u00f4le mutuelle \u00e0 tr\u00e8s grande port\u00e9e pouvant atteindre la dizaine de microm\u00e8tres. Ces propri\u00e9t\u00e9s font des atomes de Rydberg froids des candidats tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressants pour la simulation quantique de nombreux syst\u00e8mes physiques. En 1998, la premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9rience avec des atomes de Rydberg froids a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e au laboratoire Aim\u00e9 Cotton, avec l\u2019\u00e9tude de la r\u00e9action de transfert r\u00e9sonnant d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour l\u2019atome de c\u00e9sium<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\/images\/highkights\/CYRAQS\/Capture_d\u00e9cran_2016-07-20_\u00e0_16.42.50.png\" alt=\"Capture d\u00e9cran 2016-07-20 \u00e0 16.42.50\" width=\"155\" height=\"17\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">o\u00f9 deux atomes \u00e9changent de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9sonante de l\u2019\u00e9nergie interne (voir figure). La r\u00e9sonance du processus est obtenue par la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un petit champ \u00e9lectrique, <em>F<\/em><sub>1<\/sub>, qui modifie l\u2019\u00e9nergie du niveau <em>p <\/em>de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019amener \u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;mi-chemin&nbsp;\u00bb entre celles des niveaux <em>s<\/em>. Cette r\u00e9sonance est aussi appel\u00e9e r\u00e9sonance de F\u00f6rster en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux processus biologiques FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer), tr\u00e8s similaires.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Une r\u00e9sonance de F\u00f6rster \u00e0 trois-corps peut induire la r\u00e9action plus complexe<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\/images\/highkights\/CYRAQS\/Capture_d\u00e9cran_2016-07-20_\u00e0_16.42.55.png\" alt=\"Capture d\u00e9cran 2016-07-20 \u00e0 16.42.55\" width=\"221\" height=\"17\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La figure montre le sch\u00e9ma du processus, o\u00f9 un troisi\u00e8me atome, dit \u00ab&nbsp;relais&nbsp;\u00bb, absorbe l\u2019\u00e9nergie en exc\u00e8s en transitant du niveau <em>np <\/em>vers un autre niveau <em>np\u2019<\/em>. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e avec un gaz d\u2019atomes de c\u00e9sium, refroidi par laser dans un pi\u00e8ge magn\u00e9to-optique. Les atomes sont ensuite excit\u00e9s par laser vers un niveau de Rydberg, <em>np. <\/em>Le transfert de population des atomes depuis le niveau <em>np <\/em>vers les niveaux <em>ns <\/em>et (<em>n<\/em>+1)<em>s<\/em> est analys\u00e9 en fonction du champ \u00e9lectrique <em>F.<\/em> La r\u00e9sonance \u00e0 trois-corps se produit pour une valeur du champ \u00e9lectrique <em>F<\/em><sub>2<\/sub>, diff\u00e9rente de <em>F<\/em><sub>1<\/sub>&nbsp;; ce qui permet d\u2019isoler et diff\u00e9rentier les effets \u00e0 trois-corps de ceux \u00e0 deux-corps. Une \u00e9tude de l\u2019influence de la densit\u00e9 initiale du gaz sur cet effet a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une d\u00e9pendance cubique, confirmant l\u2019implication simultan\u00e9e de trois atomes. Une telle situation n\u2019est pas commune en physique et permet d\u2019\u00e9tudier des ensembles de particules o\u00f9 le couplage \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire entre particules n\u2019est plus une interaction \u00e0 deux-corps mais \u00e0 trois-corps, dans le cas pr\u00e9sent entre trois atomes de Rydberg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ces r\u00e9sonances \u00e0 trois-corps ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives, en particulier pour comprendre l\u2019apparition des effets \u00e0 <em>N<\/em>-corps, lorsqu\u2019on atteint la saturation des effets \u00e0 deux-corps. Les atomes de Rydberg gel\u00e9s (immobiles \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience) peuvent simuler de nombreux probl\u00e8mes de physique comme les solides amorphes ou les verres de spin, mais pourraient \u00e9galement simuler des probl\u00e8mes en biologie pour des processus de photosynth\u00e8se. Ces r\u00e9sonances \u00e0 trois-corps conduisent aussi \u00e0 l\u2019intrication de trois atomes ouvrant de nouvelles perspectives pour l\u2019information quantique.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"\/images\/highkights\/CYRAQS\/Capture_d\u00e9cran_2016-07-20_\u00e0_16.35.45.png\" alt=\"Capture d\u00e9cran 2016-07-20 \u00e0 16.35.45\" width=\"390\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">A droite trois anneaux li\u00e9s par couplage borrom\u00e9en. La courbe en trait plein repr\u00e9sente le transfert de population d\u2019un gaz d\u2019atomes de Rydberg 35p vers les \u00e9tats 35s et 36s dans le cas de l\u2019atome de c\u00e9sium. Le pic le plus intense correspond \u00e0 la r\u00e9sonance de F\u00f6rster \u00e0 deux-corps, tandis que le second correspond \u00e0 la r\u00e9sonance borrom\u00e9enne \u00e0 trois-corps (respectivement obtenus pour 3.6 et 3.8 V\/cm).
